Ibiza has many facets. It’s up to you to discover all of them. The island does not settle for just being a world mecca of electronic music. It offers much more. You’ll find much fun, but also luxury, high-end gastronomy, independent boutiques, collections of the most prestigious brands, art galleries, sophisticated beach clubs, spa centres, dinner theatre, and also silence for those who seek it.
Ibiza can be the most rebellious island in the Mediterranean and also the most innocent. You can experience it intensely during a weekend or take it in at ease during a longer stay. There aren’t enough hours in the day…. Beaches and virginal bays, small towns resplendent in white, farms dotted with almond and carob trees, endless sunsets, and adventure-filled sea. And of course, the best electronic music sessions at the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel.
Do you like to see your feet when you go in the water? And dive into true natural pools? Is your Instagram requiring a great collection of turquoise blue? If your answer to any of the above is ‘yes,’ then Ibiza certainly your destination. More than 50 beaches and coves await along the coast, the largest of all being the Playa d’en Bossa, the same one where the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel is located. Within its almost three kilometres of shore, you’ll be able to swim in crystalline waters, practice your running on the sand, or enjoy the excellent service and gastronomy of the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Club. Other fantastic beaches are a short drive away from the hotel—the famous Playa de las Salinas, for instance, as well as Es Bol Nou, Cala Jondal, and Cala d’Hort. If you’re heading in those directions, to the west of Ibiza are the beautiful coves Cala Bassa and Cala Comte; to the north, the famous Cala Benirrás; and to the east, Cala Nova, Aigües Blanques and Es Figueral. And there are many more. If the shore is your obsession, rent a Smart Ushuaïa Limited Edition 2018 and go and explore Ibiza.
We know that in Ibiza the night can chip away many hours from the day, and that’s why we want to share with you all the other sights to see in the island, so you can take note and make time to see the other Ibiza. You’ll have time to sleep when you get home…. It would be a shame for you to miss some of the most special parts of the island, like historic Ibiza town, and the Dalt Vila (literally, “city above”), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We recommend visiting late in the afternoon, so you can see the sunset from its walls and dine in one of the charming restaurants dotting its main street. You cannot miss the traditional Ibizan architecture, with its church-fortresses and cube-shaped houses. To explore them, drive to the interior of the island from one town to the next: Sant Rafel, Santa Agnès, Sant Mateu, Sant Llorenç, Sant Joan, Sant Miquel, Sant Carles de Peralta, Santa Eulària des Riu…. The Sant Antonio church is an excellent example of a church-fortress—it even has a lookout tower—so don’t miss it when you go to town and see the famous sunsets. All these are mere suggestions that scratch the surface of all that Ibiza has to offer.
Surely, you already know all you can do at the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel. You might be wondering what else is there to engage with during your Ibiza vacation besides the Ushuaïa Experience. The answer is: a lot. For starters, right at Playa d’en Bossa you can practice standup paddle surging and standup paddle boarding (SUP). You can also deep-sea dive and snorkel, or partake in extreme sports like flyboard or Seabob diving, kitesurfing, windsurfing, jet skiing, and water skiing. And don’t forget fun trips on a Banana boat or catamaran, or playing volleyball on the beach. Beyond Playa d’en Bossa, you can discover virginal beaches and coves, explore the Ibiza coast on a kayak, visit flea markets that happen all over the island during the summer, explore the southern coast of Ibiza from the ocean and visit the mythical Es Vedrà islet, do mountain biking, explore the interior of the island on a quad, and of course, escape for a day to our sister island Formentera. If you’re interested in Ibizan culture, you will find interesting collections in the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Eivissa contemporary art museum, the ethnographic Museo de Etnografía de Ibiza, the Museo Puget, and the Puig de Molins Necropolis.
Not all of the activities at the Playa d’en Bossa take place by the sea. This Ibiza tourist destination is famous for its restaurants, bars, beach clubs, and electronic music clubs, like the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, the #1 outdoor club in Ibiza. Right across is the famous Hï Ibiza, the latest club addition to the island. Its sessions featuring outstanding world DJs expand the offerings of Ushuaïa Ibiza, to create the most complete party situation in Ibiza. That same one you are probably seeking during your vacation. Or did you think you would simply sunbathe?
Not everything is about the party in Playa d’en Bossa. In its restaurants, you will have the opportunity to discover Ibiza’s gastronomy. We assure you that your trip to the island will not be complete unless you sample delicious local specialties, like the tradicional bullit de peix, a fish stew served with arroz a banda, a savory side dish of rice cooked in fish stock and garnished with aioli. You will lick your fingers! Or try an octopus frita, rice with local bogavante lobster, or a simple but delicious baked Gallo de San Pedro fish. If sweets are your fancy, try the greixonera bread pudding, or a flaó—cheesecake laced with spearmint. Delight in the flavors of the island…
